“Motor City Madman” Ted Nugent comes to The Cave Big Bear one night only on Monday, July 3, highlighting an all-American holiday weekend at the mountain’s intimate concert venue.
Songs like “Stranglehold,” “Cat Scratch Fever,” “Dog Eat Dog” “Great White Buffalo,” “Spirit of the Wild,” “Wango Tango” and many more have made Nugent a rock and roll legend. His career began when he was lead guitarist for the Amboy Dukes in the 1960’s, playing mostly psychedlic rock, and he was also a member of supergroup Damn Yankees featuring Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger and Michael Cartellone of Lynyrd Skynyrd, but it’s his solo work that has defined Nugent’s career.
Nugent’s music is best served up live and each summer he hits the road to dish it up to his longtime fans, including this year’s “Make America Rock Again 2017” tour. He’s performed literally thousands of shows through his 50-year career and this will be his first appearance at The Cave, where the audience is literally only feet away from the stage. In 2011 he released “I Still Believe,” a hard-driving homage to America released on his website that garnered positive reviews, featuring his ever-powerful guitar.
Nugent has sold over 40 million albums in his illustrious career, an incredible number and he shows no signs of slowing down with his high-octane concerts continuing to set attendance records at venues around the world. Whether he’s performing for 55,000 Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton or on a USO Tour of the Persian Gulf with country star Toby Keith, Nugent’s shows never disappoint. Celebrating American independence with Nugent, known for his patriotic views and political activism, will be a real treat!
He caps off what promises to be an incredible holiday weekend at The Cave, which already has scheduled surf guitar legend Dick Dale for more true American music on July 1. Two more big name shows are being planned for the Friday and Sunday of the weekend so check back soon for full details on a truly firecracker holiday concert celebration in Big Bear!
